Strengthening technical capabilities, improving accessibility, and enhancing the availability of GNSS services
EMITECH-GNSS, a subsidiary of the EMITECH Group and a COFRAC-accredited testing laboratory (ISO/IEC 17025) 1, announces the relocation of its operations to new premises in order to support its growth and strengthen its GNSS metrology services.
Located in Ramonville-Saint-Agne within the Canal du Midi Technology Park, close to the CNES, this new site forms part of a strategy aimed at strengthening the laboratory’s technical capabilities whilst improving access to its services. In particular, it will enable the development of testing activities in controlled environments, three-dimensional RF simulation (OSNMA, CRPA) and GNSS signal replay, whilst further improving its assessments under the most challenging operational conditions. This relocation is driven in particular by the increasing demands from industry, institutions and academia in the field of critical navigation, where the reliability and availability of position measurements are of key importance.
« This move marks a major milestone in our development. It provides us with a modern, functional and ideally located space, just a stone’s throw from the CNES, the universities and a particularly dynamic technology hub in the Occitanie region. We now have a setting that matches our ambitions and expertise.»
Xavier Leblan, Development Manager, Emitech GNSS
A location designed for performance and synergy
The new site in Ramonville-Saint-Agne, just 50 metres from the metro, offers Emitech GNSS excellent accessibility for its partners, customers and staff. This strategic location also strengthens the company’s proximity to key players in the space, aeronautics and technological innovation sectors:
CNES (the French National Centre for Space Studies), a leading player in GNSS and space applications ;
Toulouse’s universities and research centres, hubs of innovation and talent incubators ;
A dense network of companies and start-ups specialising in embedded technologies, autonomous mobility and defence.
« Being based in the heart of a world-class environment gives us the opportunity to step up our collaborations with leading players, attract top-tier talent and strengthen our position in the European GNSS services market. »
Xavier Leblan, Development Manager, Emitech GNSS
A comprehensive and enhanced range of services
This move is accompanied by a structural strengthening of Emitech GNSS’s offering, which is organised around three areas of expertise:
Testing of GNSS systems and components: characterisation and validation of the accuracy, integrity and robustness of antennas, receivers, IMUs/INSs and correction services. Tests are conducted in real or simulated modes, using real or synthetic RF signals, in accordance with the EN 16803 standard.
- Digital testing facilities: advanced functional evaluation of positioning systems, based on the design of representative scenarios derived from real GNSS measurements and the large-scale generation of data using machine learning (AI) techniques. The resulting digital models of GNSS receivers and environments enable the accurate reproduction of propagation conditions, the prediction of equipment behaviour and the exploration of complex configurations.
- Performance consulting and engineering: supporting manufacturers in the qualification of critical solutions incorporating GNSS, sensor hybridisation, protection against radio cyber-attacks (jamming/spoofing), and integration into multi-physical test campaigns (EMC, mechanical, climatic).
These services are aimed at a range of demanding sectors: automotive and autonomous mobility, rail, aerospace, defence, precision agriculture, space and infrastructure (timing, telecoms). The launch of new dedicated web pages and educational content will raise the profile of these areas of expertise among manufacturers and contractors.
A rapidly expanding GNSS market, with ambitions to match
In a sector where positioning reliability has become a prerequisite for any critical function - be it autonomous driving, aviation navigation, precision farming or time synchronisation infrastructure - the demand for GNSS evaluation expertise has never been greater. The choice to establish Emitech GNSS in the heart of the Toulouse metropolitan area, the European capital of space and aeronautics, is no coincidence: it is a deliberate decision to be as close as possible to the manufacturers, research organisations and contractors who are facing these challenges.
