How the CB scheme works
The CB Scheme is based on a structured process allowing international recognition of the tests performed:
1 - Definition of the regulatory framework
- Check for any national deviations.
- Carrying out tests
2 - Identification of the normative requirements of the target market.
- Tests carried out by an accredited CBTL testing laboratory.
- Verification of electrical performance, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and safety.
3- Issuing the CB certificate
- If the tests are conclusive, the National Certification Body (NCB) issues a CB Test Certificate.
- This certificate is recognised by all countries belonging to the CB scheme.
