Sand and dust tests
Validate the resistance of your equipment in hostile environments
Why carry out sand and dust wind tests?
Sand and dust tests are used to assess the resistance of equipment exposed to hostile environments. These tests are essential for :
- Ensure compliance with international specifications such as RTCA DO160, MIL STD810, GAM EG13 and STANAG 4370.
- Test the tightness of equipment against the penetration of fine particles and abrasion.
- Analyse material degradation in the presence of sand and dust.
- Guarantee the robustness of equipment used in extreme environments.
Sand and dust tests
Sand and dust resistance tests are used to verify the robustness of equipment designed to operate in hostile environments.
- Sand is highly abrasive and can damage paintwork, glass, plastics, labels, seals, gears, motors and turbines.
- Dust can easily infiltrate devices and disrupt their proper functioning. It particularly affects electronic cards, relays, moving parts, and ventilation, filtration, or fluid systems.
These tests therefore guarantee the reliability and durability of products exposed to extreme conditions.
