Engine airflow tests
Characterise your components under representative conditions
Validate the aerodynamic and thermodynamic performance of your motorised air loop systems
The Emitech Group provides an aerodynamic testing unit dedicated to the detailed characterization of engine components, particularly those integrated into the air loop. Designed to meet the needs of the automotive, aeronautics, energy, and hybrid or alternative mobility sectors, it is intended for use by R&D engine engineers, test managers, thermal/hybrid propulsion project managers, and test technicians specializing in engine thermal systems.
Thanks to a flow/pressure-regulated wind tunnel, a high-temperature gas heater up to 900°C, automated acquisition systems, and multi-bench modularity (cylinder head, exchanger, valves), this cell makes it possible to validate the performance, thermal efficiency, and robustness of components in realistic and repeatable scenarios.
Why carry out airflow testing?
- Characterisation of the aerodynamic behaviour of components such as shells, heat exchangers, valves** or integrated modules.
- Evaluate the thermal efficiency of cooling systems, using precise measurements under representative operating conditions.
- Optimise design and calibration (tumble/swirl, friction, leaks, pressure drops).
- Reduce development times thanks to automated and reproducible campaigns.
- Meet the normative requirements and performance standards defined by the sector's prime contractors.
